There's So Much Going On, But God

There is so much going on.

I know for me personally, I’ve lost people this past year - either someone passing away or lost friendships. I’ve had a lot of highs and lows, been really busy, new experiences, and opportunities for growth. I’ve seen people getting married, pregnant, have babies; I’ve seen God move on the hearts of men, and honestly, I’ve been seeing people go through stuff.

I now realize, more than ever, how true is it that you never know what people are going through.

I know people who are going through stuff emotionally, mentally, and myriads of other things. It’s heartbreaking to see all the struggles that people I know are dealing with, and also the lostness of the world at large, and the hurt and pain.

Even in the midst of so much stuff going on in the world and in people’s lives, God is still on the throne. He’s still in control and He’s Sovereign. He knows and He sees.

Many of us have probably heard of people supposedly walking away from God and denouncing Christianity in just 2019 alone, and if it wasn’t an actual statement of some sort, we see it in their lives. But even in the midst of it all, God is in control.

Even when someone who you thought would never walk away from God or live a compromising lifestyle does, God is still in control. Sometimes people profess Christianity and it even appears that they are living the life, but they never really gave their lives to God. They just took on a “form of godliness,” as it says in 2 Timothy 3:5, and their lives were never actually transformed.

In 2 Timothy 3:5, Paul writes to young Timothy and says, "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." In chapter three, Paul talks about how “perilous times will come,” and proceeds to list many things that will take place, such as “men should be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,” etc.

There is so much going on in these last days. Many people are being murdered, children are having children, families are broken; the devil is attacking God’s people in a variety of different ways, and people are struggling with things - relational, physical, mental, health, etc.

But God.

Even with everything we see and hear, God has all power in His hand, and He knows the beginning from the end. And spoiler alert: We win. In the end, after it’s all said and done, we are on the winning side. God has the victory.

As His children, we can rest in Him and be at peace in the midst of a chaotic world.

So yes, there is a lot going on, but God.

I pray this was encouraging for someone, and a reminder that God is Sovereign and in control, no matter what we see or hear. Have A Blessed Week.

In Christ's Love,
Gabrielle
