Getting Off Of Ourselves

I just want to encourage and challenge my brothers and sisters in Christ to always be sensitive to God’s spirit and be available for God to use you.

As children of God, we have been called to, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).

I think many of us who live in America have become lax, and don’t have eternity in mind. We are often selfish and don’t realize the urgency of the times.

We may seclude ourselves in our homes, or only spend time with other believers instead of reaching out. Or our focus may be completely on ourselves - where we're going, or our busy schedules, or what we want - that we forget that time is running out and we are to have a heavenly focus.

We really are living in the last days. People are dying every single day, and we have the words of life.

As a servant and ambassador for the kingdom of light, God wants us to continue to pursue Him and build our relationships with Him to the point that He is our daily companion and is continually giving us direction.

When we’re continually growing in Christ, our perspective changes. We are focused on Him and serving Him to the fullest, then we no longer have room to focus on ourselves. And if we’re not focused on ourselves but what God wants of us, we can see better all the people around us that are in darkness. And we are sensitive and available for God to use us so that men, women, and children may be rescued and brought into the kingdom of light.

Lord, give us your eyes so we can see. Let what breaks your heart break ours. Help us to get off of ourselves and be aware of how and when you want to use us, whether it be sharing our testimonies, giving someone a tract, smiling, praying for someone, or sharing the gospel.

Lord, help us to get off of ourselves, die to self, and focus on what’s important - serving you, and bringing as many people into your kingdom while there is still time.

I have recently noticed in myself a sense of urgency. Because you know what? Time is dwindling down, and God wills that no man should perish, so He uses us to share the gospel.

Let’s Get Off Of Ourselves, Plug Into His Word, Spend Time In His Presence, And Share Jesus.

  1. How do you start on this when your faith is rising and falling. How do you share Christ when you're still really struggling ? How do you let go?

    1. Hello! I just recently saw this comment/questions and definitely wanted to respond. I don’t know your specific situation but just generally speaking, I would say that it starts with your heart - is your heart’s deep desire to seek after God, live for Him, and get in the place spiritually that you need to be to effectively be an ambassador and witness for Jesus? If so, that’s a good place to start.

I would encourage you to just take some time and pour your heart out to God - your heart, your struggles, and worries. Lay it before Him. He knows.

As far as sharing Christ, you certainly don’t have to be at some high level or pinnacle before sharing the gospel. Even in the midst of personal struggles, you can always share Christ’s love with others, either by the gospel message itself or practically.

Be encouraged, and hang in there! I shall keep you in my prayers. Remember, God sees and He knows, and He’s right there. YOU ARE INCREDIBLY LOVED!
